Expectations of Student Athletes

It is a privilege to play on a Creekside Middle School team. As a student-athlete there are expectations and guidelines that need to be established. The following are those expectations and guidelines that are expected from each student-athlete:

It is a privilege to play on a Creekside Middle School team. As a student-athlete there are expectations and guidelines that need to be established. The following are those expectations and guidelines that are expected from each student-athlete:
Student Athlete
- As a student athlete at Creekside you are expected to be a leader in the classroom, hallway, school and the community.
- Attendance at games and practice are mandatory. Attendance at other Creekside sporting events are expected-support your fellow students and SUPPORT your school.You may not leave practice early. If absent, it is the student-athlete's responsibility to contact your coach prior to practice. Unexcused absences may result in limited playing time and/or dismissal from a team.
- Punctuality and preparation are expected for all games and practices. IF YOU ARE ON TIME YOU ARE LATE. If an emergency arises, DO NOT send word through a teammate. Contact your coach.
- Look at the schedule in advance. If there are any conflicts, take responsibility and notify your coach as soon as possible. Your coach will work with you to resolve the issue. Rest assured, if the conflict is with a Creekside band, choir, play, club etc. the coach’s and staff will work together to ensure that you are able to participate in both activities.
- The student-athlete is responsible for all academic work. SCHOLAR ATHLETE. If necessary, arrangements may need to be made with teachers for work that is missed.
- Dedication to your team and coach are vital. Athletics require self-discipline to reach team and personal goals.
- Creekside student-athletes have a responsibility in representing their school at all times in a dignified and positive manner. Failure to do so may/will result in dismissal from the team
- Sportsmanship before, during and after games/practices is expected of each student-athlete.
- It is your responsibility to read and understand the Creekside Student Athlete handbook.If you have questions, ask your coach.
